With the Bundesliga winter break in full swing, Bayern Munich head to Doha, Qatar for a short winter training camp.

2018 being a World Cup year means a shortened winter break for Bundesliga teams. That, in effect, means a shorter winter training camp for Bayern Munich. They will, however, still embark on their annual trek to warmer weather for their winter training camp.

The Bavarians trade the cold Alpine climate of Munich for the warm, sunny shores of Doha, Qatar when they leave on Tuesday. Jupp Heynckes and his crew of assistant coaches will be joined by a 25-man squad.
Among those in the squad will be Bayern’s newest signing Sandro Wagner and a handful of youth players. Those youngsters include Felix Gotze (younger brother of Mario), Marco Friedl, Lukas Mai, Niklas Dorsch, and goalkeeper Ron-Thorben Hoffmann.

Manuel Neuer, Thiago Alcantara and Christian sbo ninja Fruchtl all remain behind in Munich due to various injury problems.

Bayern will play just a single friendly during their time in Doha. They face Qatari side Al-Ahli SC on January 6. They take on Bayer Leverkusen in Bundesliga action less than a week later, so it’s unlikely many of die roten’s stars will feature in the friendly match.

Sporting director Hasan “Brazzo” Salihamidzic says the squad is ready for their one-week intensive.

“We’ll work really well there. There’s not much time for preparation but we’ll use it to get off to a good start to the second half of the season.”
Bayern Munich will certainly need to make the most of their time away from Munich. When they return they’ll be thrown right back in the swing of things.

Despite a poor start to the season under Carlo Ancelotti, Bayern has got right back on track under Jupp Heynckes and taken a hefty lead in the Bundesliga, whilst remaining a threat in the Champions League and heavy DFB Cup favorites.

If they want end this campaign with silverware, they’ll have to be at their absolute best throughout the second half of the season. And that starts with enjoying a good, sbo ninja productive winter training camp.
